This hotel is in the middle of the old city - a very comfortable location all highlights of the old city are within an easy reach. The value for money is excellent, especially for those who do not spend lots of time in a hotel room and are more interested in active sightseeing. This hotel also has a terrace on the roof with very scenic views of the old city. Since it has an alcohol-free policy it is very suitable for those looking for a calm and tidy place to stay.

The room we were staying in was not very cosy, it had small windows and was a bit dark. The shower room was not the most comfortable.

The position and the view from the terrace are surely the only good points of this hotel.unfortunately there is no choice if you want to stay in the old city.

the room was very dirty and tiny.whenever they were doing the room they insisted on putting on the bed a heavy and filthy blanket(even though it was 33 degrees outside).you always have to ask the reception to switch on the air con as you cannot do it by yourself.I paid on arrival, and for the two following days they kept on asking me to settle the payment(make sure you don't lose your receipt if you pay on arrival).100$ a night is a real rip off for the service provided.

Location, Location, Location!!It was a great location in Jerusalem, clean, good value and helpful staff.

I was surprised that they did not take credit cards and then charged additional for local currency over US dollars (about 11% premium)

  • Older travelers

A perfect location in the souk section of the Muslim Quarter near all the important sites in Old Jerusalem. A deliciously tacky hotel with a roof top terrace offering a singular view of Dome of the Rock. The staff is friendly and helpful, access to internet and free tea and coffee. Arab decor throughout, and while many things at the hotel ie furniture, window screens, baseboards, etc. are in need of repair, it's obvious that work is being done. The room was clean and quiet, mattress firm, linens clean and fresh and water hot. A basic breakfast of typical local fare is included.

  • Older travelers

Location is excellent within the Old Jerusalem city walls. Walking distance to most ancient tourist/religious sites. Breakfast is very healthy and affordable. Fabulous views of the old city from the breakfast room.

The hotel is cash only. They do not accept any kind of credit cards. This is not clearly mentioned on the Booked.net website. Also, you need to carry all your luggage from Damascus gate to the hotel, since there is no other means of transportation within the old city...pedestrians only.

  • Family with children

Price is ok, but you can find more comparing offers just outside old city which is better. Roofterrace with a nice view.

Service of hotel owners: very unfriendly, inhospitable and disapprovingly. Location: for stayovers you can better take an hotel/hostel just outside the old city, everything is closing anyway late afternoon so for eating, drinking and entertainment you always have to be (just) outside the old city. In the morning it is then only a 5 min walk into the old city. Service: not very handy you can only pay with cash and they apply (their own) exchange rate to their own advantage.

  • Family with children

Location in the Old City - smack bang in the middle of the souks! The two brothers (Mohammad & other) were very helpful & spoke very good English.

The plastic cutlery & polystyrene plates at breakfast! The bad stench coming from the bathroom that smelled very much like faeces! No TV in the room.

  • Older travelers

We liked the idea of staying in the centre of the old city in Jerusalem and were not disappointed. You turn off a central street up a flight of stairs and are immediately welcomed by a very friendly staff and helped to our room with luggage. The rooms were clean and quiet at night because there is no traffic! Through the old city. The amazing rooftop terrace is fantastic. With the best views in the city. We took breakfast up each morning (excellent breakfast) and many times during tiring days of sight seeing, because it is so central we went back for an hour with a snack and relaxed on the terrace feeling as if you were sight seeing without walking! The atmosphere was lovely and we really enjoyed our nine nights there. We would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an authentic experience. Where else do you walk out of your hotel into the busy Souk bustling with life and everything you want to see is within easy walking distance.

  • Older travelers

The first room was a bit dirty, but they changed it for a larger, cleaner room, and they were very polite and friendly. They had a good, full breakfast with eggs, quite a treat. We will go back.

the first room was dirty, with sheets that hadn't been changed, but were great about changing the room. It's a good price for the location, and the people were great.

having breakfast on the roof with an amazing view of dome of the rock

  • Group of friends

No more than 1 to 2 star maximum. No Internet over 4 days even after daily promises, ggrrr!

Poor tea and coffee facilities, no Internet and many examples of bad electrical outlets!!

  • Group of friends

Convenient location, great breakfast, colorful experience.

  • Family with children

Right in the heart of Jerusalem! From the Hashimi you can easily walk to the most historic sights. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast is great, and the view from the roof top dining area is well worth the lack of luxury in the rooms. Our family (two adults and two teens) loved it. When we return to Jerusalem, we won't hesitate to stay there again.

The rooms were tight, but that was O.K., we weren't there to hang out in the hotel all day.

  • Group of friends

This is my third time at the Hashimi Hotel. The location in Jerusalem's Old City cannot be beat. It's easy to find, especially from the Damascus Gate, and is within walking distance of everything. The internet Wi-Fi is good and the rooftop view is remarkable.

For some reason, my two reservations through Booked.net did not show up at their desk. Fortunately, they had rooms available and my reservation notice from Booked.net was sufficient to check in. They mentioned some problem in communication between themselves and Booked.net. Had the hotel been full, we would have had difficulty.
